This story details the participation of NC credit unions in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. State Employees' CU & Local Government FCU are providing free tax preparation at all 216 of their branches. These efforts have already returned more than $6 million in tax credits to qualified taxpayers in NC as of mid February! Truliant FCU in Winston-Salem is also providing VITA support to residents of Forsyth County.
